Successful marketing is NOT about treating everyone the same, it’s about identifying groups of individuals that have things in common and treating each of these groups differently. Saying different things to them, showing them different images, selling them different products.

Segmentation is the essence of successful marketing. Sending the right email, to the right people, at the right time, is key to success (and by success we mean an engaged audience-people that open, read and respond to your emails).

In order to do this we need a way to identify people’s individuality…The way Mailchimp help us to do this is with Tags and Groups.
